Another great day of whale watching with plenty of breaches in the afternoon. 🚀
As we said in our last post, sloppy sea conditions seem to get the whales excited and those were exactly the sea conditions we had for the day! 😅
We may have some more photos for you soon as our photographers are still sorting through hundreds of shots they got today!

YAY, we got our first breach this afternoon! 🚀

We watched 3 whales just off Manly Beach and followed them all the way to Long Reef.

It was a great cruise as about 50 Bottlenose Dolphins came over to say hello to the whales and all sorts of chaos ensued with tail slaps, pectoral fin slaps, dolphins leaping over whales and close encounters as they were zigging and zagging all over the place!

Hopefully more of the same on our next cruise tomorrow!

We are now 4 days into our whale watching season ...

We are now 4 days into our whale watching season and have seen whales every day.

Mostly whales were just swimming along with the occasional hint at some activity, but the first proper breaching trip remains elusive.

With whale numbers increasing daily, i am sure this is just a matter of days until we strike lucky.

Quite often its just a case of right place right time, as some of the whales we had watched over the last 4 days did breach before or after we watched them...!

Maybe today is the day? 😎

BUT it is a start to our 2022 whale watching season, and i am sure we will see many more over the coming weeks!

Fingers crossed for the first breach of the season tomorrow! 😎

It all begins next Saturday!

Only 6 days until the start of our 2022 whale watching season! Whales have already been sighted off our coastline, with one reported breaching off Kiama yesterday and a sighing off Bondi Beach a couple of days ago.

Here is a great shot from a couple of years ago with a mother and calf just outside the harbour entrance and our flagship vessel Ocean Dreaming 2 in the background sporting its old livery.

We unveiled a new-look by Gomeroi artist Warwick Keen back in June 2021 to mark the commencement of our Aboriginal Whale Watching Experience which may very well see a return in 2022!

We hope to welcome you onboard one of our many whale watching cruises real soon!

Here is a great one from a couple of seasons back, just outside the harbour entrance at a place called Diamond Bay, which seems to be a bit of a hot spot for whale activity.

Quite often we see a change in behaviour here, but as with many whale behaviours we don't really know why.... We have plenty of theories of course which we will happily share with you onboard 😎
